Ears & iPods

Here's a few records that we strongly recommend.  First off, The Raveonettes' newest album, Lust Lust Lust.  Equal parts noise and pop make for some cool grooves on this brief journey of sound.  Be sure t listen to this one in the car.  Our second pick is Real Emotional Trash, the latest from Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks.  This release is Malkmus' fourth post-Pavement album, and while flavors of Pavement remain, there are some new twists to the music as well.  In particular, the extended freakout guitar jam solos and minimal lyrics provide a contrast to Malkmus' back catalog of anti-hits.  If you dig this one, check out Pavement's debut album, Slanted & Enchanted, from '92, praised by fans and critics alike as indie-rock's greatest album.  P.S.  All of these albums are available on vinyl and the labels are throwing in a free download of the album with the record.  Keep your ears happy, and your iPod full!
